| Appointments
Please remember you can book an appointment with your
doctor or a nurse up to four weeks in advance, but you
can still ring on the day if you need to be seen on
that day. Emergency appointments with the duty doctor
should ONLY be requested if it is something which cannot
wait until another day.
HPV vaccine for 16 – 18 yrs old girls against
cervical cancer is available and we will be sending
invitations out to all those in the age range for which
the Health Authority has provided us with vaccine.
Stop Smoking
All our Nurses now run a stop smoking clinic. You need
to make a 20minute appointment at a time convenient
to you to initially discuss your desire to QUIT. At
that meeting the nurse will explain what will happen
at each appointment and how she can support you through
the procedure.
Medication
If you are on regular medication it is important to
have a medication review with your doctor at least once
a year. You may require a blood test or a blood pressure
check before your next prescription. You should make
an appointment with your regular doctor for this check
up before your next prescription is due and before you
run out of your medication.
Blood Pressure
Everyone over the age of 45 should have their Blood
Pressure checked and recorded every year.
High Blood Pressure may not give any symptoms; you
may not know it is raised.
High Blood Pressure can be an early indication of a
risk of Heart Disease.
Please make an appointment with a Nurse for a Blood
Pressure check, or ask your Doctor to check it, if you
come in for another reason.
Information
If you have any questions or would like information
on these or any other subject, please ask one of our
Receptionists.
If they do not have an answer immediately, they can
take a message for someone who will have and get an
answer for you.
